USDA Approved Facility
Safeway Fresh Foods quality is monitored by USDA inspections and our facility is a USDA approved processor. Our USDA number is EST 40283 / P40283.
Annual 3rd Party Audits
Safeway Fresh Foods has a comprehensive HACCP plan in place to facilitate a successful food safety program. In addition to internal audits to ensure that food safety standards are being adhered to on a consistent basis, Safeway Fresh Foods has conducted third party audits on an annual basis.
The audits not only focus on the review of HACCP documentation, but concentrate on inspection of storage, food production and processing units, assessment of equipment/utensil condition, water/sewage systems, garbage disposal, pest control and structural components (walls, floors, ceilings, lighting and ventilation).
